Daily Routine

Photo series on our daily routine  On the left the past and on the right my present.  A line down the middle, two sides of the same coin. This is a reflection on the cause and effect of certain habits and ways of being.  Meditate on what habits would manifest a clean house and things running smoothly versus what habits manifest total chaos in the home and a lot of surface aestheticism. My self care has evolved, I used to let things fester and ignore them in hopes that they would just go away, I now deliberately face the issues I see and feel and work to correct whatever is causing the issue. I used to think self care was slowing down and letting myself rest (which was pure laziness) whereas now self care looks like doing the work on myself to ensure I am taken care of inside and out which takes action rather than inaction. I used to not exercise and overeat and wonder why I felt sluggish and unmotivated, now I work out and am mindful of how I eat which creates feeling stronger and empowered.  I used to go slow but not reflect and wonder when peace would come, now I take time to slow down mindfully and meditate and that has grounded me and instilled the peace I was always searching for within.  I used to not clean and live in utter chaos, now I have a daily routine of cleaning and caring for myself and my environment.  A lot of my searching before had to do with instant gratification, now I slow down and practice mindfulness and know that true peace comes from action rather than comfort.  I would not be where I am today however without walking the path I am on and experiencing both mindsets and ways of being.  My understanding of peace is forever going to grow and expand, but I can see where I have come from and look forward to where I am heading.  My overall demeanor is calmer and more logical, I have worked to shed reacting on emotion and the entitlement I felt to comfort and now embrace the pains that come with growth.  Within that willingness to experience a little discomfort I have discovered so much peace and understanding.
